Salale University’s Research Ethics Review Team organized a three-day training session for Directors,College Deans, Vice Deans, Department Heads,

and research and community service coordinators.

In his welcoming speech, Dr. Solomon Balemi, Director of the Academic Programs Directorate, introduced the trainees to the program’s objectives. He highlighted key points, reviewed the past work of the Research Ethics Committee, and outlined future plans.

Delivering the opening address, Dr. Tsegaye Deyou, Vice President for Academic and Research Affairs, emphasized that strengthening research ethics among researchers and facilitators would address existing gaps, enhance research quality and standards, and scale up researchers' skills.

Dr. Solomon Balemi and Dr. Habteyes Hailu led training sessions covering various research ethics topics. Participants noted that the program helped bridge gaps in their knowledge and introduced new insights. They also expressed that extending such training to a broader audience would positively impact the institution.

At the closing ceremony, Dr. Genanew Gofe, President of Salale University, thanked the trainers and organizers, acknowledging the training’s role in fostering unity and contributing to both the institution and the country. He underscored the importance of establishing common guidelines, updating research methods, and promoting competitiveness to ensure the university’s growth and distinction.

The event concluded with the awarding of certificates of recognition to the trainees by the president.
