Welcome to Salale University’s (SlU) Official Website,It is my great honor to serve as the President of Salale University, and I am deeply inspired to work alongside the dedicated and enthusiastic staff of our institution. I firmly believe that education is the most powerful tool to drive national progress and improve lives in all dimensions. It serves as the foundation for all forms of advancement, achievable only when access and equity are ensured.
With this vision, and guided by our motto, "Co-Creating Quality," Salale University was established in 2015 in Fiche town, North Showa Zone, Oromia Region, located 112 kilometers from Addis Ababa. Since its inception, SlU has been steadfastly committed to its three core missions: education, research, and community service. The University began its academic journey with nine undergraduate programs. Today, it offers more than thirty undergraduate programs, and we have finalized preparations to launch postgraduate programs in various fields by 2020. Our region, North Showa, widely known as "Salale" for historical reasons, is uniquely positioned, bordered by two major tributaries of the Nile River—Mogor and Jama—as well as the Nile itself. This area has attracted significant attention from researchers and academics due to its potential mineral resources.

Salale University President, Dr. Feyera Dinsa Issues Work Instructions to Newly Appointed Student Union Leaders. Salale University President, Dr. Feyera Dinsa, provided official work instructions to the newly appointed Student Union leaders, emphasizing inclusiveness, accountability, and professional service delivery. The event was attended by the Dean of Student Services, Mr. Solomon Hailemariam, Vice Dean for Student Services, Mr. Yosef Dechasa, and other relevant stakeholders. During the occasion, Dr. Feyera highlighted the critical responsibility of the Student Union to serve the interests of all students without discrimination. He stressed that the Union is expected to ensure the equitable delivery of essential services to students across the university, regardless of academic background or personal circumstances. Dr. Feyera further urged Union members to perform their duties with full accountability and professionalism. He noted that effective student representation requires transparency, ethical conduct, and a strong commitment to service. He emphasized that the credibility and effectiveness of the Union depend on the integrity, dedication, and discipline of its leadership and called on members to work collaboratively to address student concerns and contribute positively to both the academic and social environment of the university. In his remarks, Mr. Solomon Hailemariam, Dean of Student Services, reinforced the importance of treating all members of the university community equally and encouraged the Student Union to collaborate closely with relevant stakeholders to resolve challenges as they arise. Finally, Abidi Reta, President of the Students’ Union, expressed his commitment to fulfilling the responsibilities entrusted to the Union and pledged to work collaboratively with fellow members and the university administration to serve the student body effectively.
