Welcome to Salale University’s (SlU) Official Website,It is my great honor to serve as the President of Salale University, and I am deeply inspired to work alongside the dedicated and enthusiastic staff of our institution. I firmly believe that education is the most powerful tool to drive national progress and improve lives in all dimensions. It serves as the foundation for all forms of advancement, achievable only when access and equity are ensured.

With this vision, and guided by our motto, "Co-Creating Quality," Salale University was established in 2015 in Fiche town, North Showa Zone, Oromia Region, located 112 kilometers from Addis Ababa. Since its inception, SlU has been steadfastly committed to its three core missions: education, research, and community service. The University began its academic journey with nine undergraduate programs. Today, it offers more than thirty undergraduate programs, and we have finalized preparations to launch postgraduate programs in various fields by 2020. Our region, North Showa, widely known as "Salale" for historical reasons, is uniquely positioned, bordered by two major tributaries of the Nile River—Mogor and Jama—as well as the Nile itself. This area has attracted significant attention from researchers and academics due to its potential mineral resources.

Salale University Hosts Leadership Training for Academic Leaders.

Salale University Hosts Leadership Training for Academic Leaders Salale University’s College of Business and Economics is organizing a leadership training session for newly assigned academic leaders at the Seminar Hall. During his welcoming speech, Mr. Solomon Tessema, Dean of the College of Business and Economics, introduced the trainees to the program’s objectives and highlighted key points on leadership. He also extended a special welcome and gratitude to both the trainees and trainers. In his opening speech, Dr.Eshetu Wondimu, Head of the University President’s Office, emphasized that leadership training is crucial for newly assigned academic leaders. Leadership is the art of influencing, motivating, and guiding others toward achieving common goals, which ultimately supports the university's mission. The concepts of leadership, leadership skills, and competencies were presented by Dr.Dessalegn Urgessa,while leadership theories, styles, and challenges were presented by Dr.Natinael Salfore. Participants actively contributed to the leadership training through thoughtful questions, suggestions, and constructive feedback, enhancing the learning experience by fostering open communication and the exchange of diverse ideas. During the closing ceremony, Mr. Gezahagn Feye, Special Assistant to the Vice President for Academic and Research Affairs, urged attendees to apply the knowledge gained from the leadership training to address real-world challenges. He highlighted that the training equips academic leaders with essential skills to manage programs, foster a positive environment, and navigate challenges in higher education, as well as identify institutional strengths and weaknesses by analyzing the current situation. He also described leadership as the ability to guide and show direction to others. Mr. Gezahagn also thanked the organizers and trainers for providing this valuable opportunity.
