Welcome to Salale University’s (SlU) Official Website,It is my great honor to serve as the President of Salale University, and I am deeply inspired to work alongside the dedicated and enthusiastic staff of our institution. I firmly believe that education is the most powerful tool to drive national progress and improve lives in all dimensions. It serves as the foundation for all forms of advancement, achievable only when access and equity are ensured.
With this vision, and guided by our motto, "Co-Creating Quality," Salale University was established in 2015 in Fiche town, North Showa Zone, Oromia Region, located 112 kilometers from Addis Ababa. Since its inception, SlU has been steadfastly committed to its three core missions: education, research, and community service. The University began its academic journey with nine undergraduate programs. Today, it offers more than thirty undergraduate programs, and we have finalized preparations to launch postgraduate programs in various fields by 2020. Our region, North Showa, widely known as "Salale" for historical reasons, is uniquely positioned, bordered by two major tributaries of the Nile River—Mogor and Jama—as well as the Nile itself. This area has attracted significant attention from researchers and academics due to its potential mineral resources.

Salale University Conducts Hard Science Laboratory Resource Management System Training and Handover for Stakeholders.
The University Laboratory Coordination Office, led by Mrs. Zahara Mohammed, in collaboration with the Executive Office of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), initiated the automation of the Hard Science Laboratory Resource Management System in 2017 E.C. The system underwent multiple stakeholder reviews, during which necessary adjustments were made. As a result, stakeholder feedback was incorporated, and the system has now been successfully completed.
In his opening speech, the delegate of the Academic and Research Vice President, Mr. Gezahegn Feye outlined the university’s digital transformation goals and emphasized that the laboratory management system improves planning, resource management, procurement, tracking, and equipment monitoring. He highlighted that the system enhances reporting, improves communication, and ensures transparency in laboratory resource management, while also emphasizing the importance of adopting digital platforms to support the university’s operations in the digital era.
The system was designed and developed by the university’s internal ICT team. The training session was delivered collaboratively by Mr. Teshome Mulugeta, Executive of ICT, and Mr. Dejene Bogale, Software Team Leader. The session primarily focused on practical demonstrations of how stakeholders will use the system.
Participants actively engaged in the training by asking insightful questions, offering valuable suggestions, and providing constructive feedback.
All stakeholders who will use the system attended the training and handover session. These included college deans (Natural Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Agriculture and Natural Resources, and Health Sciences), department heads of hard science laboratories, three senior instructors from each department, laboratory assistants, and professionals from the property administration department. Finally, the system development team promised to incorporate the valuable suggestions and feedback provided by participants and confirmed that the system will become operational soon.
