She outlined the objectives of the workshop and encouraged participants to actively engage by providing comments and suggestions to refine the presented findings for a greater positive impact on the community.
In his opening speech, Dr. Hailu Gebru, Director of the Research and Publication Directorate, commended the promising research and community service efforts conducted by the university, particularly by the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. He emphasized that these innovative research projects and community-based initiatives are delivering a wide range of valuable products that significantly benefit society.
The workshop featured presentations of 15 research papers, each reviewed and discussed in detail. Participants, including researchers and reviewers from the college staff, as well as stakeholders from North Shoa Zone Agricultural Sectors and Fiche Agricultural Research Centers, provided valuable insights and feedback to shape the final documents.
Speaking at the conclusion of the two-day workshop, Shewadinber Mekonnin, Dean of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, highlighted the importance of the platform in allowing researchers and stakeholders to evaluate and refine the research findings to reflect both community realities and the university’s mission.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Tsegaye Deyou, Academic and Research Vice President of Salale University, expressed his hopes for impactful research that addresses pressing environmental and agricultural challenges, improving community livelihoods while fostering the personal and professional growth
