Azeb Lemlem, the Women and Social Affairs Mainstreaming Implementation Executive, welcomed attendees and highlighted the significance of unity among women in advancing gender equality.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Eshetu Wendimu, Head of the President’s Office, acknowledged the struggles women have faced in overcoming social, economic, and political barriers. He emphasized that International Women’s Day is not only a celebration but also a call to action against gender-based violence.

The event featured a presentation led by Dr. Yeshimebet Bogale, Public and International Relations Executive, and Siryet Oloba from the School of Law, who shared insights on gender issues.

Dr. Tsegaye Deyou, Vice President for Academic and Research Affairs, delivered the closing remarks, urging women to strengthen their collective efforts in political, economic, and social spheres while addressing gender-related challenges.

In addition to the main event, Salale University’s College of Health Sciences, located on the Abebech Gobena campus, also hosted a celebration.

The ceremony concluded with an awards presentation, recognizing female students with the highest academic achievements in their respective Colleges.
